Wilson, dated 1837. Nine pages written, rest blank. Ink on front; "A. Wilson 1837" The pages represent the schooners expenses and freight earnings for the year 1835 -1839. Each year's page is described on two facing pages-one for freight and the other for expenses. There are also a few pencil notations dated 1840-1841. Most expenses relate to the continual need to repalce rigging and maintain the vessel, but also for the occassional stove pipe, wharfage, and "sundries." Freights included wheat, barrels of fish or other goods, rails, shingles, and especially cordwood. Condition: poor, cover almost completely detached, earlier mend with pressure sensitive tape, removing what is left of thread on spine. | ![]() | View |
